ITINERARY
The strangest in the southern area of Madagascar is the humid forest on the mountain next to the Indian Ocean (Wet Forest of Andohahela National Park); The dry forest next to the Indian Ocean (Dry Forest of Andohahela National Park), the intermediate forest alongside the Indian Ocean (Andohahela National Park Transition Forest); The spiny bush next to the meeting between the Indian Ocean and Mozambique Channel on the southern tip of Madagascar (Cap Sainte Marie Special Reserve) and the dry forest next to Mozambique Channel (Tsimanampesotse National Park). All of these forests are very strange which are home to different types of animals, endemic and medicinal plants ... In addition, the scenery and beach in this place is very beautiful. But, do not forget for your discovery of our ancestral culture ... Perhaps, this is why the extreme south attracts a lot of visitor from Madagascar. DAY 1: Fort Dauphin - Andohahela National Park - Berenty reserve
This trip takes us from the moist places of Fort Dauphin with these beautiful beaches such as the beach Libanona, The anse dauphine or Fort Dauphin Bay, Ankoba Beach or False Gallion Bay, Evatra Point and Lokaro creek, Sainte Luce Bay..., Nahampoana lemur reserve, Manantantely waterfall domain, rice paddies decorate by the Anosyenne mountain range towards the discovery of a new transitional and semi-arid world in the extreme south of Madagascar. So, with this step, we will see the intermediate forest of Andohahela National Park (Tsimelahy Transition Forest) decorate with beautiful scenery and natural swimming pool. Then, to finish the day we journey leads to the discovery of the reserve of Berenty for the different types of animals and birds’ diurnal and nocturnal in the dry forest and forest gallery near the river Mandrare.
DAY 2: Berenty reserve - Ambovobe - Tsihombe - Faux Cap
This step is based on the discovery of our ancestral heritage culture. We learn our culture, but we never forget to meet our neighbor before to join the most beautiful beach of Faux Cap. This place is beautiful with its landscape decorated with thorny bush.
DAY 3: Faux Cap - Cap Sainte Marie special reserve - Lavanono
We are on the southern tip of Madagascar. We ride less with our vehicle in this place because it is testudo radiata territory (turtle) in the heart of the virgin forest about 1m high. Everyone in his territory. So, we respect the territory of others so that they respect our!
You can see the end of the Indian Ocean and the beginning of the Mozambique Channel in this Special Reserve Cap Sainte Marie. It is the only place you can see the egg piece of aepyornis (Great Birds Missing from 10th Century). Let's go to the journey! DAY 4: Lavanono - Androka - Itampolo
Our adventure with our 4WD car continues. We leave the surf beach known all over the world. Then we take the road of adventure full of rocky, big sand of Menaradra ... before to cross the virgin forest of Bevoalavo (Translation: Gros rat). The surroundings are amazing to say with this beautiful scenery and baobab andasonia za. One crosses many times with carts of the zebus coming to look for water very far from his village with their kegs.
DAY 5: Itampolo - Tsimanampetsotse National Park - Ambola beach
The beach of Itampolo is the best beach I like very much. But we still have things to do: It is the visit of the national park Tsimanampetsotse. In this place, you can see some blind fish on the lake inside of the big cave, the older baobab from Madagascar about 3000 years old, the salt lake full of birds like the flamingos ... before we headed to the most beautiful beach in Ambola. We relax in this beach full of pulp fishermen. We ordered with the hotel restaurant Le Vahombe to prepare us for our dinner. For myself, I choose pulp in tomato sauce or grilled fish.
DAY 6: Ambola beach - Beheloka - Ankilimivony - Anakao
Our ride with our car is always close to the beach and next to nature with different kind of virgin forests. The scenery is incredible. That is why we move with our car but we also make stops for the photo especially in Beheloka before to join Anakao.
DAY 7: Anakao - Betioky
After the south coast near the beach lined with dry forest full of animals like lemurs and birds ..., we continue our journey into the interior of the country. On road, one sees of different type of baobab... before to join our future of discovery on the Special Reserve of Beza-Mahafaly
DAY 8: Betioky - Beza Mahafaly special reserve
The Beza-Mahafaly Special Reserve,like the Berenty Private Reserve, is made up of small pieces of gallery forest (100ha)and spiny desert (480ha),and has been a key research site for 20 years .It is located south of the Onilahy River about 35km north east of the village Betioky-Sud.
The species that one can see in Beza-Mahafaly are the same as in Berenty,including the ring-tailed lemur(Lemur catta),Verreaux Sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi),White footed sportive lemur(Lepilemur leucopus),southern fat-tailed dwarf lemur (Cheirogaleus adipicaudatus),reddish-gray mouse lemur(Microcebus griseorufus),and gray mouse lemur(Microcebus murinus).Missing are the brown lemurs of the Andohahela National Park rain forest.The region of Beza-Mahafaly as a whole is much more remote than Berenty and worth the adventure of getting there.
DAY 9: Betioky - Tuléar
After our visit of Betioky and the special reserve of Beza-Mahafaly, we go back with our 4X4 car by the RN 10 to reach Tuléar. Here is the end of my proposal of adventure circuit on 9 days of the extreme south of Madagascar. So tourists can organize the rest of their trip on their own. They can make the RN 7 (asphalt road) by taxi-bush or minibus ... by visiting the Isalo National Park, Andringitra National Park, Ranomafana National Park ... or take off from the plane to Antananarivo
